What better way to watch the rich biodiversity of wildlife in the area than onboard our tranquil little journey. Keep an eye out for Buzzards, Red Squirrels en route and as our little steam engines travel from Ravenglass across tidal Barrow Marsh, keep an eye out for Oyster Catchers and Ringed Plovers. Conservation
As a company we have also been promoters of conservation projects in the Lake District, with donation schemes alongside books sales such as Walks from Ratty going towards footpath projects in the local area to help preserve this fragile environment for future generations to enjoy.
Save our Squirrels
We sponsor our little red friends in lots of ways. It a sad fact that our native species is in decline and only clings onto a few pockets in England today. But, you can help us to help them by purchasing one of our Save our Squirrels products in our gift shops, watch out for the SOS symbols, a percentage of sales from this merchandise goes towards this charity to help provide protection for the Red squirrels in Cumbria.
Travel by Train
Be green and leave the car behind.
