Train Times - Fares

Timetable

Using the timetable above for February 2012 to January 2013, please match the colour of the date you wish to travel to the corresponding colour of 'Departures' for the times of our trains. Most trains are steam hauled. Our timetable is subject to alteration without notice.
You can download a colour, printable PDF version here.

See our Events Page for details of extra special days on the Railway which also includes opportunities to ‘Meet real Owls at Dalegarth’, our bespoke 'Steam and Romans' tour and evening entertainment - with a difference!

Our full 2012 Timetable, which lists train times at all the intermediate stations as well as Ravenglass and Dalegarth for Boot will be available to download from this page soon.

Access for all visitors

Here at the Railway we aim to cater for all age groups and abilities. Arriving at Ravenglass there is level access from the car park to the shop and ticket office side entrance and level access to the trains and the toilets.

At Dalegarth, our terminus station, there is level access from the platform to Fellbites Eatery, the Scafell Gift shop and the toilets. A ramped walkway affords access to the car park and to the lower ground floor Eskdale Room for all who prefer not to use the stairs from the upper floor.

Crucially, each train includes wheelchair friendly carriages. (The guard simply removes a side section of the carriage to allow easy access.) While it is helpful to know in advance if individual visitors using a wheelchair are travelling, it is really important for us to know if a party of wheelchair users are coming. (Please ‘phone us on 01229 717171 to book)

In theory access for all is possible at our intermediate stations, but as these are often unmanned we suggest that travel from Ravenglass or Dalegarth is preferable.
